Story
1. Receipt for consultation on the 08th August 2017
2. Letter from orthopedic consultant
My name is Lisa and I am raising funds for my fiance Mark, I have been with him for 9 years.
We have 2 children together.
Mark was an extremely hard working individual.
Mark developed a herniated disc in 2007, he had surgery to have this removed. The surgery was successful and he lived a pain free lifestyle, he went back to work and lead a normal life.
He continued to work 3 jobs to support me and his two beautiful sons.
In 2011 Mark was woken up in the night with excruciating pain in his back and all down his left leg, this left him in excruciating pain and unable to walk unaided.
Due to these conditions Mark was unable to hold down his jobs and had to leave.
Mark has changed in alot this has effected him as he is unable to live a normal life, he has become very withdrawn, he has become isolated and this is not the person I first met.
Mark was referred to a orthopedic consultant by his GP as he felt another operation was needed, when meeting the consultant he felt this was not viable as his sciatic nerve was trapped by scar tissue from the earlier operation.
Mark has had for years physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, acupuncture, lumbar puncher, pain management and epidurals.
None of this has helped and Mark is not the person to give up but to keep trying so he is in the future able to work and support his family and to be able to do day to day normal activities.
Mark has spent hours researching all avenues and options and finally he has had an osteopath Steve Morris in Brighton at The Sussex Back Pain Clinic to say he is able to help.
This treatment is not available on the NHS but is available privately.
The procedure involves decompression of the spine and allows any trapped nerves to free moisture into the disc and any blocked fluids to flow through the disc.
The procedure lasts 6 weeks 20 sessions in total and the rehabilitation is ongoing.
I would like to ask my friends and family to help raise the funds for this treatment to get Mark back on his feet.
Any amount you can donate would be appreciated.
