Hello everyone!

I have been selected to represent Sefton County on an animal conservation trip with North West Girlguiding to Belize in Central America in August 2018. I will be volunteering with the charity Frontier to survey manatees and their habitat. Manatees are adorable, gentle, very slow-moving whales, which are under threat from humans. We will also be doing coral reef studies, organising beach clean-ups and teaching local children about marine conservation.

The selection process for the trip was challenging all in itself. Over two weekends, we were tested on our ability to work in teams, speak in public and cope with the unexpected. It was such an honour to be picked, and I want to make the most of this opportunity to raise awareness about the need to protect the marine environment, and to share my experiences with others when I return.

I need to raise £2600 to cover the costs of the project-trip. If you would like to help, I would be extremely happy with any donations, no matter how small, that will help me along the way.
