My name is Loretta, I am 28 years old. I have Cerebral Palsy after being born at 26 weeks gestation. I am largely dependent on a powered wheelchair to mobilise but have never let these "add ons" get in the way, I have a successful career in pastoral care and have been blessed with the love of a wonderful husband - and two beautiful babies.

Recently though, old faithful (my current set of wheels) has decided that it's too old and will soon need replacing (replacement parts are not made anymore) and I will soon need a new one. However, according to the NHS I am not eligible for support because I choose to walk with a K walker or on my knees around the house. So I'm liable to fund the recommended £10,000 chair myself though I can not, and will never be able to - walk unaided. Thankfully, Colchester Catalyst Charity have offered me a thousand pounds - so in eternal thanks I will give anything I make over that target to them.

I can't begin to tell you what every donation will mean to me, not only will I be able to go to work, but I will be able to continue to be the mummy my children deserve.

and as much as I could make adequate use of a pink glittery shopping trolley to get around, it's just not ideal!
