My name is Fable. I was rescued from Romania. I'm 11 years old and I'm unable to see. I have cataracts in both eyes.

My previous owners moved home and left me behind. I was chained up and left to fend for myself through a harsh winter. I was found in a ditch, having been attacked by a pack of dogs.

My new owners have given me a loving home, but I'm left traumatised by previous life. Other dogs, new people and new environments frighten me, mainly because I can't see.

There's no shortage of love in my new home, but not a huge amount of money. My new family want to have one of my eyes operated on to remove the cataract. Being able to see again will make the world a less scary place for me.

They are hoping to raise £2,000, which is the cost of operating on one of my eyes. We were a little bit worried about creating this page because the operation might not be completely successful. There's no guarantee that I'll be able to see again and we don't want people to feel that their generosity has been in vain.

But my new family want to give me the chance to see again. If successful, the operation will change my life.

I've had a sad life so far. Being able to see again will make my final days less frightening.
