My daughter was admitted into the neonatal unit from birth until she was one week old. The staff there were caring and attentive, using their own resources to help Eilidh. When we had to do the laundry she was given baby clothes, when we ran out of nappies they used their own supply and colourful knitted blankets and toys were used to brighten up her cot space. Craig and I stayed in the neonatal unit for three nights, we stayed in one of their en-suite rooms which were made to feel homely rather than like in a hospital. Tea and coffee was supplied and you were only asked to supply your own food. we were so grateful to all the professionals involved in her care and grateful that Eilidh got better and was discharged home after a week.

As you know I'm getting married on 28th January 2017. This is a cause close to me and Craig from our personal experience and so we have decided that we will not be buying wedding favours but instead donating money to this cause. Craig and I would also prefer that if guests were considering getting us a gift that they instead consider putting money to this unit for all the sick and premature babies, like Eilidh, that benefit from its resources. A lot of these resources mentioned above (and more) are only available to babies from the donations they receive from the charity.
