Story
My story is about my great uncle Peter.
Peter has been battling stage four cancer for the last few months. As you can imagine this is not ever pleasant.
He is a house husband who has; a step daughter virgillia, step son Jamie, son Thomas and himself and June (my great auntie) are the legal guardians of their grandsons, Oran and Aston, these little boys know them as mummy and daddy. These all see their dad suffer on a day to day basis with this horrible illness. June and Peter do everything together, they have done since day one. Even though he is very ill and can not do anything for himself anymore, he is still looking out for his family. He is so kind hearted and would do anything he could to help others, for the last 22 years he has put on a Christmas light display for everyone to come and see, just to get them In the spirit, A few days ago he bought her a new car because he knew she would need it and may struggle when he’s gone. He may not be able to help physically but he sure does help mentally.
My brother Curtis the age of 11 has decided to start a fundraiser at his school. He done this off his own back. He went to school a few days ago and explained that’s what he wanted to do and why, of course the teachers understood and said that was fine. With in one lunch hour he had made £8. He now has £30 in two days. He started off selling the little origami boats at 5 pence but has now started making other things and the donation is any silver coin.
We contacted Macmillan to say what we had been doing and how Curtis has started this up. They said they are very please and impressed with what he is doing and has given us permission to make it official and said we can buy and use their merchandise.
Cancer is a horrible thing and loads of people lose their battle to it. No family should have to go through this and lose a family member this way.
We would love it if you could donate, even something little, this could help someone else fighting their battle to cancer.
I would love to thank my Great Auntie June and all my other family members for being strong and doing everything they can to care for and look after Peter.
All donations will be going Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thank You.
