For those who didn't know, my father Ian Andrews suffered a Cardiac Arrest on September 5th 2018 at 6.20pm. Ian was In a circuit training class when he collapsed. They used the defibrillator straight away, whilst someone was giving CPR .

The paramedics were on scene within 3 minutes working on him,

whilst an amazing guy Called Dr Gareth Roberts who works for an amazing Charity Called MEDSERVE WALES in his spare time.

Gareth wasn’t on duty at the time, he had a pager that gave the call. He headed straight up to the Village Hotel.

Without this machine and kit MEDSERVE WALES supplied my father wouldn't of had the best chance.

MEDSERVE WALES are a team of doctors who volunteer in there spare time. they are based in Wales attending scenes at any point or anywhere within Wales.

It couldn’t of happened in a better place, The Village Hotel team were amazing, the Paramedics outstanding, also the helicopter, Dr’s and MEDSERVE WALES guys. My father was in a stable condition and had been put into an induced coma where he had been for 72hrs.

He was part of a study that helped understand the best way to recover the body after a cardiac arrest , which cools the body down to then slowly warmed Ian up gradually allowing the body to wake up.

I would like to raise as much money as possible for more defibrillators and MEDSEVE WALES.

Unfortunately my father has taken a turn for the worst, but without the help of the defibrillator he wouldn't of stood a chance.

I knew my father like my back of my hand and he would of helped anybody out if they asked for it. He registered himself an organ donor in 2011 and again in 2016.

I have mad a huge decision to 1000% back his decision and are now in the space of looking for a match. Dad would of helped anyone before himself.

Just like the time the police helicopter crashed in to the house in coryton and my father went straight up on the roof to get the pilot and the police men before the fire brigade. He wasn't a hero he was just my Dad.

The first time you met my dad people were like who the hell is this guy (Loud, obnoxious, full of life ) but had a heart of gold.

Once you got to know him he was a real character and I know that he would want you to help others and I truly believe there should be a defibrillator at every public establishment and at the end of every street.

Hopefully I've made my father proud and keep making him proud. I will miss him truly, He has been my rock, my soul, my best friend , my handyman. my DAD.

It is the hardest thing I've ever done but I know it will make me stronger as a man.

He loved everyone and was full of energy 100% of the time, always 100MPH!!

I have chosen to raise as much money as I can for Cardiac Arrest equipment and MEDSERVE as possible !!
