When I visited Thailand in January this year, I saw so many street dogs that were in awful condition, some had no fur due to mange, some were injured and some were just really skinny. Not only that, although the dog meat trade is now illegal in Thailand, dogs still get taken off the streets to be killed for meat. They‘re all so gentle and affectionate, they’e completely at the mercy of humans and all they want is to be treated with care and love. Just heartbraking :(

I remembered seeing Michael Chour from The Sound of Animals on British TV last year so i got in touch with him to see how I could help which is when i decided to do the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on 6th May 2018 to raise money for him.

10 years ago, Michael Chour visited Thailand and was so shocked by what he saw, he devoted his life to stopping the dog meat trade and caring for the dogs that he managed to save. He is now continuing the fight against the dog meat trade in Cambodia.

The Blue Dream shelter is a place where dogs can finally be safe from abuse, car accidents, and the dog meat trade (as it is so close to the Cambodian border). The shelter will make it possible to treat and contain diseases and allow for a sterilisation plan to be executed. All donations will go towards finishing the shelter and looking after the 500 dogs in Michael’s care.
