Imagine being a 39 year old, in so called perfect health, being given the devastating news that you have agressive breast cancer that has already spread to the lymph nodes.....

3 weeks ago that was my beautiful, strong and curageous sister Jessica.

A mother of four wonderful children, wife, daughter, sister and auntie, in a job she absolutely adored! Safe to say our worlds were turned upside down and every emotion possible has been felt!

The only positives is that she WILL beat this but it's a long road ahead as the cancer is too large to operate so she needs 18 weeks of very strong chemotherapy plus an operation, possibly radiation therapy but also hormone treatment for life.

Living in Bournemouth I feel a million miles away and even though I rushed up to see her as soon as physically possible, The reality is i'm not going to be able to be there when she needs me the most! To hold her hand during treatment, or cook for her when she's feeling weak or even just laying on her bed snuggling her on bad days when she's had enough and telling her it will be ok!

So what CAN I do?

I can stupidly chose to do a half marathon and try raise as much money possible for her and her family! The financial strain is going to hit them with her having to give up her job, and I dont want money worries to be another thing on their shoulders at a time when concentrating on getting better is the only thing that should matter.

I'm no professional runner and this is going to test me to my limits but absoltely nothing in comparison to what my sister will go through!

She was a rock for me in my teenage years up to my late twenties and literally did anything and everything for me and now is my time to repay the favour.

Breast Cancer awareness month could not have any more meaning than this year.

Ladies, learn how to check your boobies and do it every day

Men, check yourselves too! It doesnt just effect women!

My gran is a survivor,

My aunt is a survivor

My mum is a survivor

My sister WILL be a survivor
