Story
Our Church was built in 1851. It is grade 2 listed building. Our main concern is the access to the church for people with limited mobility. At present we have 5 steps which makes entering the church with pushchairs or wheelchairs all but impossible. Our current kitchen & toilets were installed in the old choir vestry in 1989. There has been no further modernisation since then. There is no hot running water in the kitchen, no cooker & it is unhygienic. Our project is to create accessibility for all, improved toilet facilities including one with disabled access (& baby changing facilities) & an updated hygienic kitchen so that when we open our church to the public we are able to provide safe modern facilities. This project will cost at least £12,000.
As you can see we really need to update the facilities..

7 years agoThe Aviva fund voting closed on 21st November so fingers crossed! Our current fundraising total is well over £7,000. This is an amazing effort so far but we still have a long way to go. We have made bids to various organisations but have yet to hear if any have been successful. Our next big event is our Christmas Tree Festival to be held 8-10th December 11-5 each day. Please support us if you can. Thank you :-)

7 years agoLydbrook Church needs your vote! We need to collect 1,000 votes as quickly as possible to get through to the next round to be in with a chance of a grant of £1,000 from the Aviva Community Fund. Please vote on TUESDAY, if you can, and pass it on to everyone you know. Voting does not finish until 21st November but the sooner we start voting the better. Anyone can vote and each person has 10 votes all of which can be "spent" on our project. https://www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/voting/project/…/17-568 Many thanks for your support.
