Story
Hello!
I am running the Leeds Half Marathon on May 13th (help), I'll be splitting the money raised between two charities:
Firstly, the incredible Homed, who I have volunteered with for the past 2 years. The organisation is run by students, and aims to help alleviate the immediate struggles of homelessness by providing supplies, food and a friendly ear to the Homeless community in Leeds. By running weekly projects in the city centre and with hostels and shelters, Homed raises awareness among students about the issues surrounding and leading the homelessness. Bringing people together from many different backgrounds, the projects Homed runs help to break the stigma around homelessness and show that people within communities have the power to help one another.
Secondly, the mental health charity Mind, who provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Mind campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding, and now millions more people have access to advice and support thanks to our information and services nationally and locally, in England and Wales.
Those of you who know me know that I HATE running, so any donation large or small is so greatly appreciated!!
