    Story

    Money For Matt

On 3rd November Matt McWilliam was involved in a road traffic accident in Shropshire and sustained serious head injuries. He was taken to Stoke Hospital where he remains in a serious condition. Since the accident his parents Angie Cowey and Matt McWilliam senior aka “Matt the Dog” have been at his bedside. At this difficult time we would like to help Matt and family by crowdfunding. Let’s all help raise some much needed funds!

Matt is a lovely lad and his family are well known on the Romney Marsh. They find themselves away from friends and family at this difficult time. We really want to give them some comfort by bringing a sense of community to them via this appeal.

All donations will go directly to the family enabling them to support Matt as necessary.

Matthew has now been moved into Level 3 care and is making progress. He is able to talk although still quite confused. He has some movement on the right hand side of his body and is receiving rehab. He has just been accepted at the acute rehabilitation unit at Canterbury and waiting for a bed to become available. Here's hoping it will be soon. Thank you so much for your donations . I have passed all messages to the family and they have been comforted by your kind words.

Matthew is still in high dependency unit. Tracheotomy is out & he is breathing independently. He is talking but not coherent yet. There will be no prognosis for at least 6 months. He is having physiotherapy and can lift head off pillow slightly, but that's it so far. He may move to Canterbury Hospital in a couple weeks, but they need to ensure they can cater for his needs there. His parents are still with him in Stoke on Trent. Any donations to help them at this difficult time are most gratefully appreciated. Love and thanks to you all.

Matthew continues to be in intensive care although some of his medication is now being withdrawn and he is breathing independently for short periods of time. The family are still at his bedside and are supporting him all the way. Our love and prayers are with them. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.
