    Story

Allow me to start the story.

Me and my wife decided to plan for the future of our family by buying a 5 door economical car.

Perfect for the choice was the 1.0 Ecoboost fiesta.

We found a well priced titanium on Gumtree, called the seller, did a HPI check and agreed a price.

The next day we went down to Coventry to buy the car. This ended up being a pants journey in itself as we witnessed another driver hit a cat in his car, pick it up, and throw it over a fence. Not on my watch, so we pulled over, called the RSPCA, and stayed with the cat untill it died.

So, off we go to see this car (literally round the corner from the cat too).

We meet the guy, nice and genuine, said he was a care worker.

We took the car for a test drive and did all the usual car buying malarkey (still feeling pretty bummed by the cat)

After the deal was done, we tried to tax the car there and then but couldn't. Thought it was a glitch in the DVLA site so left it to try at home. Still unable to tax it at home we called the DVLA, who also were unable to tax it. So we went to the post office who, you guessed it, couldn't tax the car either.

Feeling a bit confused, we tried to call the seller...surprise surprise his phone only goes through to voicemail now.

Lights flashing we check every VIN we can, finally reaching the one under the carpet. It's been ground off.

So, we called the police, turns out the car is driving on cloned plates and VIN markings, and the real car is in Surrey.

Last night (30th Jan) the car was seized by the police to be investigated.

As it's stolen we no longer have a claim to it, we also have no claim to the money we parted with in good faith.

So, there is the jist of our story, showing that you can work hard and be good, but someone is still going to scam you.

Were just trying to recoup our losses now so we can continue with the original plan for the family.

    Thank you

Any extra will go to charity
