In July 2018 myself and a group of students from my school, Pate's Grammar School, are going on a 18 day charity trip to India. During our trip we will be working with children's charities, such as The Tibetan Children's village who provide education for around 3000 Tibetan refugees, to support their educational journey and give them a better future. We will also work with the Dolma Ling Nunnery who provide the highest level of Buddhist education for nuns, helping them to progress into teaching throughout Asia, and Tong-Len who help Indian people living in slums in Dharumsala. I have to raise the funds myself for the trip, which amount to £3000. I have already raised just under £2000 by selling some of my things online, doing a car boot and myself and two friends walked 44 miles in August to prove how serious we are about raising money for the trip! We will hopefully be meeting the Dalia Lama, mountain trekking across the Himalayas, visiting monasteries and nunneries and helping children in deprived areas.
