Trains — everything about railways, in fact — are Tom's life. On weekends, he'll visit a heritage line somewhere or work in a signalbox. And in the evenings, he'll maintain his model railway.

He wants to become a signaller on the mainline, but because he can't see in full colour, that wish may never be possible.
