Matthew turned 3 on 9th May and is the beautiful little boy of Michelle Fielder – who works in the Training Team.

Back on 6th March, Michelle discovered Matthew had a small ‘shadow’ on his left eye.. and took him to her GP. The following day they were seen by a number of professionals and on 26th March after a number of visits to Birmingham Children’s hospital they confirmed that Matthew had Rhetinoblastoma – cancer of his eye.

His left eye was removed 2 days later and a course of Chemo started at the beginning of May…

Michelle has worked for Pets for 8 years and many of you will know Michelle….both her and Ed - her husband and Matthew have been in and out of hospital since they received the diagnosis – with their primary focus being their little boy…

Matthew is doing really well, he’s still full of energy and mischief (as any 3-year old boy is) and he’s performing all of the things he was doing before his surgery and treatment.

As a People Team we wanted to do something for Michelle, Ed and Matthew and we are about to start some fundraising events so that as a family they can continue making fabulous memories for Matthew.
