    Story

Hello all, this is Malachi & he's been very unwell. He suffers from Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease, since 2 years old where he had major surgery because his bladder was blocked & nearly died. This means he get cystitis like infections easily.

4 weeks ago he got ill, after several weeks of antibiotics & tests we found out it it was due to 30 sharp crystals forming in his bladder. These tests were over £600.

They determined that Malachi's only option was surgery on his bladder to remove them costing £870, or have him put down which i refused. . Unfortunately as a pre-existing condition my insurance does not cover this.

The vet allowed the tests to be paid in installment, but not the surgery as they also discovered Malachi has Chronic Kidney Disease so deemed him not viable in a business sense. I have borrowed the money for the surgery which now has to be paid back - so i am asking for help, because on top of this Malachi must now go on an expensive specialist diet for the Kidney Disease & have tests regularly at £100+ a time.

In the long term the food & treatment are manageable costs, but he needs to go onto the food ASAP to slow the Kidney Disease developing, & currently for his bills i owe around £1500. I'm not the sort of person who likes asking for help, but he is worth swallowing my pride for, he means the world to me.

Malachi is a sweet little kitty, every morning he waits to hear me wake up either sleeping next to me or near, then meows & purrs at me & we have cuddles. When I get home from work he is always waiting by the door for me to come in. When it's bed time he sits & stares at me, then follows me round the house screaming his cute meow at me until I get into bed & he can cuddle up me & purr.

Any help is much appreciate by myself & Malachi.

    Thank you all xxx

      Update from the Page owner

Hi all! I just wanted to add a post on here to say than you for all of the support now this has closed! Malachi is doing very well, you would not know he had surgery, he's back to his normal self. He will always have Kidney Disease now, & is on a special prescription diet to help fight this & stop it causing crystals to build up again. Thank you to everyone for contributing towards Malachi's care & treatment, it is so so much appreciated xxx

So it's a week ago since Malachi came home! He is doing really well, he's very much his old self! Wanting constantly love & attention (as he always usually did), he is eating like crazy! He's a bit overweight but whilst he heals from surgery i'll allow him to eat well so his body can recover. In a few weeks i will be moving him to his kidney disease diet. I am so pleased with how well he is doing xxx

So a week ago today the vets told me Malachi would definitely require surgery for the stones in his bladder. They would not do this without full payment for the surgery in 1 go & he would still have kidney disease after. This point last week it really looked like i was going to have to put him to sleep, which was heartbreaking. But a kind friend lent me the money, now a week later he is back to his old self, home & showing me lots of love. I am so, so, so thankful that i have the opportunity to spend more time with him <3
