I am privileged to be a volunteer for Southern Sound Hospital Radio and on 21st and 22nd April I am doing a 24 hour non-stop live broadcast to try and raise some much needed funds for the station.
Southern Sound is a registered charity but I'm having to go through the Crowd Funding route this time around as there is a slight mix up with the registration that we had approved in 2015. I'm hoping that can be resolved before the 21st April.
We broadcast 24/7 to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and will shortly be broadcasting to at least 2 other hospitals in the Glasgow area.
We do all the usual stuff e.g. collecting requests from the wards but we also put patients in touch with charities and local government services which help people with serious illnesses or addictions.
We need approx 10k a year to keep going as we have no grants or income other than the donations from our members and the great British public.
If every adult in Scotland donated just 1 penny we would be self sufficient for 3 years, so please spend a penny for Southern Sound.
