We now run a charity out in The Gambia. After the founder and President sadly passed away earlier in the year, we had the daunting task of taking over the running of the charity.

We want to be able to provide the Lucy Memorial Nursery school with solar panels, as electricity in The Gambia is very intermittent and causes alot of problems to the day to day running of the school.

We decided to participate in the Dakar challenge, well our version of it anyway. We will be driving two cars from Leicester over to The Gambia, starting on boxing day this year. When, and if we get there successfully the cars will be donated, one to the headmaster of the school. This car is a Mercedes c200, it belonged to John Reynolds the founder and president of the charity. We thought it would be very fitting for his car to be taken over and given to the headmaster. The second car will be donated to our taxi driver Lamin who we have known for the past 10 years, he also transports all sponsors to and from the school.The challenge itself will consist of driving through seven countries and across the Sahara desert. It will take us approximatley three weeks to complete and I think will be a pretty rough ride at times. We all have our fingers crossed.
