This is a service that is very much needed. Brain injury is not a mental health condition. It is a physical injury to the brain that affects the brain's function-potentially affecting memory, organisation, emotion, attention, language, movement and coordination. Lose a limb through an accident and the disability is immediately evident.

The brain is out of sight (and out of mind) hidden behind our skulls. Brain injury is often experienced as an invisible disability with healthy looking individuals presenting very evident cognitive deficits in their daily living, personal and professional lives and sometimes alongside misunderstood behaviours and denial. Brain injury can impact more than those who suffered the injury. It can cause change in personal and professional skills and affect relationships for the individual and those around them.

ThreeAs counselling service aims to support rehabilitation following brain injury through building on emerging Awareness with Acceptance of change then Adjustment through recovery.
