Story
Johnstone Cat Rescue is operated by a small group of dedicated and passionate volunteers who strive every day to find forever homes for unwanted, sick, injured and abandoned cats throughout Renfrewshire. Every cat we rescue costs us money in vet bills, food, litter, litter trays, toys and other essential equipment. In the last twelve months we have paid out well over £4000 to ensure the very best of care for our cats. Most of that money was donated by people like yourself who care about the future of these cats. We want our cats to have a second chance in life, we think they deserve nothing less. Last year we rehomed approx. sixty cats, all to five star homes, These cats will never again be abandoned, and never again will they sleep under hedges or have to rake through rubbish bins for food. We are appealing again to the public to help us secure funds so that we can keep going in the months ahead. We don't know what the next phone call will bring, we have to be prepared for anything. A donation of £5 will feed a cat for a week. £10 will pay for a flea/worm treatment, and £20 will cover a vet health check or buy 4 bags of litter.

8 years agoThis poor boy is just one of the reasons we need the support of the public. Cougar had been wandering the streets of Paisley for weeks before we were alerted to his plight. We were shocked when we saw the condition he was in. His long hair was so badly matted that the knots were tight against his skin and hurting him. He was thin, hungry, and cold, and begged for food on doorsteps. One of his testicles had grown into his abdomen, a surgical operation was a success but expensive. Cougars lovely long hair has now been shaved to the skin.

8 years agoThis is an example of why we need your help folks. We took this cat to the vet tonight for a health check, as we do with every cat that comes into our care. He was given an anti-biotic injection for a urine infection, an anti-inflammatory injection for a tooth problem, and also had his nails trimmed. The bill was £72 which is a big draw on our reserves. We can only keep rescuing cats if people donate. If we run out of cash we are sunk. Please give to help us keep going.
