Hey guys - so I've just returned from madagascar as an expedition dr - a place called Mariarano.

While I was there I met some amazing people but none moreso than murielle a nurse in the small local hospital of 4 beds (only one has a mattress (well we actually bought 3 while we were there😉)

Murielle not only treats All the malaria cases / minor ops / new baby deliveries / In fact every medical problem you can think of - and she does it solo!!!!!! One nurse for the whole area!!!!

It gets better.... There's no water so families have to go to the local well and bring it to the hospital - and oh... If you fall unwell at night (remember there's no phone signal for 3-4 hours drive away) she will see you by candle light as there is no electricity!!!
