Hi everyone! Thanks for taking the time to look at our page. I‘m Nancy, Marnie’s mummy and I’m hoping to raise some funds so I can send my daughter to the Bobath Centre in London for 2 weeks of intensive therapy.

Some time during my pregnancy or Marnie’s birth she suffered a stroke. This became apparent to us when she was around 6 months old and only using her left arm to reach for things. After having a brain scan we were informed of the stroke and that Marnie has brain damage and cerebral palsy. Her official diagnosis is right sided hemiplegia which means she has a problem on the right side of her body. However so far it seems her main issue is with her right arm and fortunately her right leg seems mostly unaffected.

In order to try to maximise functunality of her right hand and arm I would like for her to be able to attend the Bobath Centre in London for two weeks of intensive therapy. Here they look at each child individually and offer physio, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy as needed. This costs £3900 for the two weeks but we will also need to cover other costs such as travel and accomodation for the duration. I have heard amazing reviews of the work done at the centre and I strongly believe the sooner we can get Marnie there, the better. Research has shown that new pathways can be formed whilst the brain is still developing and I want to ensure Marnie has every opportunity at getting her hand and arm working to the best of her ability.
