We are a local family fundraising for three children's cancer charities. Why are we fundraising? Here’s a little background on what has happened to our family to encourage us to give a little something back.
On his first day at Exning Primary school, our little Boy, Harry, just 4 years old at the time was due to Have an MRI scan to see why he had been having horrendous pains in his ear.
We were devastated to discover that Harry had a large tumour on the brain stem; our whole world was completely turned upside down, we also had a six month old baby in tow so as you can imagine, we were thrown into sheer panic!
That was eight years ago now and our journey since then has been a real rollercoaster! We have had good news followed by not so good news; our amazing Boy has gone through surgeries, countless hospital visits and has just finished two years of chemotherapy and proton therapy which was both exhausting and challenging.
Harry, now thirteen is truly inspirational in how he keeps positive - 'chin up and crack on' is his way of thinking, he is doing great at school and has lots of good mates, he's thoughtful, kind, and funny and a fantastic big brother to Joe (9) and Lucy (18 mths) We are extremely proud of all three of them!
Nobody ever expects to find themselves in our situation and we as a family live life to the full and jump every hurdle we have to but this very difficult time has been made that bit easier by the wonderful organisations that have helped us, so to say thank you we are raising funds so that other families receive this incredible support.
We do have two events planned this year but we understand that not everybody can attend but would still like to donate which is why we have set up this Just Giving Page.
