Martholme Greenway are a community group who's aim is to link Great Harwood with the Padiham Greenway along the old East Lancashire loop line track bed. This would provide walkers, cyclists, disabled and equestrian users a safe and visually stunning route between these areas and beyond. This would take in the magnificent Martholme Viaduct which was opened to the public in November 2017 by Martholme Greenway in conjunction with Sustrans and Railway paths Ltd., after being closed for 16 years. Along with the newly opened section from Simonstone lane to Gooseleach wood.
