    Story

Originally established to provide specialist support for military veterans, the success of the Walnut Tree Project has seen it extend its work to support serving military and emergency services personnel. Although the Project works alongside the local NHS Trust, as with so many great causes, it needs financial support to keep doing its work.

The Walnut Tree Health and Wellbeing C.I.C provides recovery activities, crisis support, coaching and mentoring to emergency service personnel and serving members of the armed forces, military veterans and others, with complex mental health needs, including addiction brought about by out of the ordinary traumatic experiences. We believe that recovery comes from within. Therefore, it is not something that health services do for people. It is, effectively, a personal journey of recovery. This can be seen as a process of rebuilding your life following devastating and life changing events. It is personally generated process underpinned by a set of positive life goals, ambitions and dreams, all set by the individuals themselves

The run takes place on 27th January, 2018. Please help the Walnut Tree to support those who have been affected by their experiences in serving their country or community.

A bright, cold start to the Peddars Way Ultra Marathon at Knettishall Heath. After 48 miles and 11 hours on the hoof I finished at Holme next the Sea. Thanks to all supporters for your kind donations to the help the Walnut Tree Project.
