i have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I have had successful surgery to remove the cancer and I'm now moving onto the treatment. I will need chemotherapy and radiotherapy. As a result of the treatment I will suffer hair loss and as such I am looking to try and raise money for Cancer Support Yorkshire by doing a head shave.
I will be raising money for the HODU unit at Airedale hospital where today (07/11/2016) I had my first chemo treatment. There were signes in the waiting area staying they were looking to raise money for the unit and as my original just giving charity has reached target then I though I could try and raise some money for HODU. They provide a great friendly atmosphere and they also provide wigs lunches etc free of charge to patients. A specialist wig fitter attends the unit and has advised some of the wigs can be as expensive as £200 each!,
The head shave will take place the weekend after my first chemo session on 7/11 and I will post pictures on facebook to show a before and after.
