I am a 23 year old Coach driver and student Pilot from Swindon with a passion for travel and exploring. Those who know me will know that I used to cycle a lot for leisure and for charity before i began the job that I am working at the moment.

Back in 2011 when I was 15, myself and my Mother (Kate Powell) completed a 385 mile Glasgow to Swindon and raised £1200 for the less abled childrens charity, “Whizz-Kidz”. My Dad then took to the pedals with me in 2013 and we cycled from Lands End to John O‘ Groats, raising £1700 for Macmillan Cancer Support. In 2015 I completed the same challenge again but instead of just one journey, we cycled the return journey back to Lands End as well! Furthermore, to train for the incredible leg burner, i helped to raise over £1700 for Swindon Stroke Support Group by cycling to, around and back from the Isle of Wight with my work collegaues.

It is a shame to say that I have been off the saddle for around 3 years and really want to keep up a good level of exercise and be healthy around my work life, which is a struggle with my unstable shift patterns albeit in a job that I enjoy a lot. I am determined to achieve another new fitness/physical challenge alongside my ongoing Pilot studies, which will also help to make sure that I am able to keep hold of the all important “Class 1“ Medical certificate enabling me to fly.

Throughout 2019 as an incentive to keep my fitness levels up around what will seem like endless studying for my 14 ATPL Theory Exams, I will train hard for and complete another cycle challenge from Swindon in Wiltshire to Paris in France which is approximately 300 miles. I am looking to raise £800 to help me to achive this goal. Because of how expensive the exam studies and my course is, a large amount of my wages fund that, so any money raised no matter how small will help me to achieve my goal of completing this cycle to.
