Hi, I'm Mattie and in 2013, I represented England in the World Dwarf Games held in Michigan, USA. 22 countries throughout the world took part and I won eight gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

For me and anyone with a growth disorder, this is a huge opportunity to compete in sport on an equal basis, as often with my peers I don't have much chance of winning.

When I went to Michigan for the last games we were lucky to have funding, the games have come around again and this time I am having to self fund. This time they are in Canada and run from 4th - 17th August 2017.

For me it is slightly more important to take part this time, as in addition to my growth disorder, I have scoliosis and I am due to have surgery in the next year. After the surgery I am told that I may not be able to do quite as much as I do now.
