Vicky Veness is a 30 year old personal trainer. She is a non-smoker, healthy eater and keen London Marathon runner. A few weeks ago, Vicky was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.

Her symptoms began 18 months ago when she felt heaviness in her lungs after running. Multiple GP's diagnosed her with asthsma, prescribing enhailers to alleviate her symptoms. When a lump appeared on her neck at Christmas, it was removed and sent for testing. A few weeks ago, Vicky recieved the devistating news that the cancer had spread from her lungs to her bones and lymph nodes.

Since the diagnosis, Vicky has taken it upon herself to tell her story to the online news and radio stations in an effort to raise awareness. She continues to work in between Chemo treatments, and has been writing a blog on her progress (link at bottom of page).

Vicky is an inspiration, and it is for this reason myself and Poppy will be running the Cardiff Half to raise money for Lung Cancer Research, a charity chosen by Vicky. It is the most underfunded cancer charity, so any donation would make a huge difference.
