On June 24th this year I will be travelling to Sub Saharan Africa as part of a team of 18 pupils and 2 teachers from Aberdeen Grammar School, along with a team leader from World Challenge. We are all taking part in an Expedition that will see us visit South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho and Mozambique over the course of a month long trip. While away we will spend much of our time trekking long distances and also volunteering in poor communities. Our time spent during project work will be in a small community in Swaziland, where we will be helping build a fence and kitchen for the local children while also teaching them in a few school lessons. We will interact with and work alongside locals with the general goal being to help the community with the project and all learn things from each others cultures.

I was selected to take part in this expedition, from a number of applicants, and have since been fundraising towards the cost of the trip. With my trip being a matter of months away, I have not yet managed to raise the £4000 cost of the trip. The next part of my fundraising involves cycling the near 100 miles from Aviemore to Aberdeen alongside my Dad who I have been training with in preparation for this on the weekend of Saturday April 14th. I would really appreciate any donation towards my cause. If not for the cause then for my poor Dad who has been roped into enduring the challenge with me and who will have to deal with the aches and pains in the days after : )
