In Peru, 54% of rural communities live below the poverty line and 18% are malnourished and lack fresh fruit and vegetables.
Camps International help out with many different projects including:
Education - Helping generations of children by building a new school classroom.
Housing - Constructing vitally needed community housing from local materials.
Health & sanitation - Improving the health of a whole community by installing and developing local amenities.
Food & water - Creating a communal green house to provide vegetables all year round helping to combat hunger and malnutrition.
Environmental protection - Replanting indigenous plants to offset environmental damage and deforestation.
Sustainable livelihoods - Digging irrigation channels to bring water from the mountains to nearby farms and homes; providing a more consistent supply of water to people, crops and animals.
The best thing about the programs carried out by Camp International is that every project started is carried through to completion and they actually benefit hundreds of people in the local communities.
