My name is Megan Roberts and I am currently taking a gap year before going to university. Whilst deciding what I wanted to do during my gap year, I was certain that one thing I wanted to focus on was volunteering and helping others. I have been lucky enough to be offered the chance of volunteering with Lattitude Global in an Indigenous school in Queensland, Australia which focuses on providing the best education for students of an Indigenous background.

I will be volunteering at Djarragun College in Gordonvale, Queensland for 5 months beginning in February 2018. Many of the children attending the college come from challenging backgrounds, and so voluntary work is incredibly important as it allows for the students to get all the support they need and give them the education they deserve.

As this is a voluntary placement, I am expected to fund raise in order to cover my costs, which will be an estimated £3,500 in total. I am holding car-boot sales and other events to boost my fundraising, alongside working to ensure I have enough savings to cover costs.

I would appreciate any help that you could give me to help me achieve this.
