As a few of you are aware, just after Christmas my mum fell very poorly, after several doctors appointments and trips to hospital, on the 30th January my mum was diagnosed with Glioblastoma multiform tumours in the brain. Unfortunately it’s stage 4 and one of the most rare and fast growing cancers out there. It has come as a massive shock to us all and as you can understand none of us were prepared for such tragic news.

The following days after became even more of a shock to us, after us all expecting for a long course of treatment and being able to have mum return home to us eventually we received the most devastating news - there is no cure for this cancer.

She is currently in hospital where they are treating the tumours with steroids to reduce the fluid around the tumour which is bringing back her memory and mobility enabling her to enjoy some quality time with her family.

As much as we are completely and utterly devastated with this news we do feel grateful that we have several weeks with her where we can make as many enjoyable memories as possible.

As a lot of you can understand my mum doesn’t want to spend her last weeks in hospital and unfortunately coming home isn’t an option due to high risks, meaning we are hoping to raise some money to enable us to get her into a care home with round the clock care where we can finally take her grandchildren to see her before she passes.. her one and only wish!

She won’t be moved to a cancer ward due to there being no treatment they can provide. At the moment she still remains on a high dependency unit where I am unable to take our baby, which makes visiting difficult for me and devestating for her to not be able to see her grandaughter.

This will also enable us with the help from professionals to take her to a few last places.

Also we’re hoping to raise awareness for this incurable cancer and I will be running a 10k at some point to help with research.. thats the next step!
