As some of you may know, on Tuesday 24th January this year, my beautiful Mom suffered a stroke. This has resulted in her losing movement on the right side of her body, which is her dominant side. This has been a life changing experience for all of us and my Dad, and especially my Mom. She has gone from being independent to needing help and support from my Dad, whom is doing a fabulous job ❤

Before my Mom's stroke, she created some of the most beautiful masterpieces with her hands. Cross stitched pillows, blankets, beautiful pictures to crocheted flowers, shawls, blankets and so much more. As you can imagine, her stroke has stopped her from doing the thing she loves and is amazing at.

My Mom and Dad have six beautiful young grandchildren, whom they love very much. Before her stroke, my Mom would sqeeze the grandchildren so tight with both arms and give them spider fingers using her fingers and hands, which they all absolutely loved!!! I too, as a grown 30 year old woman loved the warm embrace of a tight squeeze from my Mom. To me that is home.
Henry was born after my Mom's stroke and of course he loves cuddles and kisses with Nanny, however he has never experienced that tight squeeze we have all felt and love so much. All she says when she's holding him is, "I wish I could squeeze him with both arms" or "I wish I could hold him properly without needing help." I know this breaks my Mom's heart because she lives and breathes for those children.

My Mom has made remarkable progress in the eight months since having her stroke. She is working so hard to get the movement back on her right side. She is truly inspiring and amazing!! And even though she is doing this for herself, most of all she is doing it for her family.
