Iʼve raised £142 to help Leo. Our 3yr old lurcher has had to have life saving treatment for sudden seizures and the cost is now exceeding the Insurance cover.

Story
On wed the 28th of December our beautiful 3yr old male lurcher/whippet Leo started losing coordination in his back legs. We took him straight to the vet who after some pulling and prodding came to the conclusion that he must have hurt his back as everything else looked ok so we bought him home with painkillers. That night he got very much worse and started falling over, crying, panting and having seizures. We rushed him to the emergency vets and he was put on diazepam, epiphen and a drip. He was having seizures pretty much all night long. The next morning we had to transport him to the queen mother veterinary hospital where specialists discovered bleeds on the brain after extensive testing. He has been in intensive care until yesterday the 3rd of Jan under supportive care. The vets there have given him such amazing care and he is now on a ward recovering and doing well. They do expect him to make a full recovery which is absolutely fantastic but unfortunately the cost has now exceeded the previous estimate and the insurance cover has been reached. He will need about another two weeks in hospital in physio and rehabilitation before he is allowed home. The estimate for that period is £4,000 so this is the reason we are in need of the final bit of money. All donations would be so gratefully received and we can bring our lovely little Leo home.

8 years agoThank you so much to everyone who has kindly donated so far. I just wanted to give an update. We have picked Leo up from the hospital today as he improved enough to come home he is very wobbly and sleeping a lot, but he can walk very slowly. It's a slow road to recovering at home now but he will be epileptic now from the scarring on the brain so will need tablets for that. The bill has now reduced by £600 because he was allowed home and they will be contacting us for payment once the insurance has paid their bit. Thanks again to everyone. 😘Xx
