Story
Hi Guys,
My Name is Bryan Turner and i am Kaycee Bradshaws oldest sibling,
For the last 18 month my little sister kaycee has been attending great ormond street, London, every two weeks for enzyme treatment into the brain and we was hoping she would do so for the rest of her little life with us as a family, Kaycee speech has improved, her eating as improved and most importantly she has not gone downhill and improving day by day. But most recently we was told as a family that the compassionate trial Kaycee was on would no longer be funded by an american pharmaceutical company and will have to be funded by our NHS, In the last 2 weeks our enzyme treatment was put towards NICE (Natinal Institute for Health and Care Excellence) and they declined our CLN2 treatment for our little kaycee and all other affected children, as its not a long term effective drug and only short term effective only. Who can put a price on life, it costs around £550,000 pound a year for treatment per child and our family are still fighting to this day, and an appeal is already in place and scheduled to take place on 20th march which we may find out our fate, we could potentially be handed a DEATH SENTENCE for our little Sister, Daughter, Grandaughter, Auntie, Niece.
We are lucky enough as a family to know a few incredible human beings helping my little sisters fight against battens disease just a little more easier, and Mickii Edwards is second to none, he has dedicated the last 12 months to help kaycee in every way possible. On the evening of Wednesday 25th July 2018 Mickii will set off on a 125 mile journey through a number of towns and cities and will hopefully be finished at half time of the St Helens V Warrington Match At Totally Wicked Stadium on Thursday 26th July live on sky sports, however prior to this remarkable event there is alot of planning and training both mentally and physically having to be put into this act of kindness and Mickii has sacrificed his time, effort, sweat tears for my little sister and will not stop until this achievement has been done.
On Friday 27th July Mickii Will Be Retiring From All Running Duties And Making This The Final One
Mickii will be retiring after this run as the training alone is immense and takes its toll out of the body, but if he can sacrifice time, effort, pain to help kaycee. Then every drop of sweat and mile run would be worth it in the end to see kaycee smile aswel as her family.
ANY DONATION WOULD BE GRATEFULLY APPRECIATED BY KAYCEE AND THE FAMILY, EVERY PENNY COUNTS TO HELP FUND OUR BATTLE JUST A LITTLE LONGER.
