School Improvement (Cape Maclear/Lake Malawi)

Whilst local primary schools are well funded, secondary education is not funded in the same way.  Working with the local communities to refurbish existing facilities. Specialist teaching spaces such as libraries and science laboratories are being built to further the subjects offered to students.

Reforestation & Habitat Protection (Kumbali/Kuti)

Malawi holds the unenviable accolade for the world’s 5th highest rate of deforestation. Local communities see wood as their only available fuel, both trading and burning it for cooking and heating. I will be involved in alternative fuel and protection projects that aim to protect the natural wooded habitat this is critical in maintaining wildlife diversity and re-establishing wildlife tourism.

Kindergarten Development (Kumbali)

In order to support local women in gaining employment, a Kindergarten has been set up on the local farm where many locals are employed.  As the number of children increases, additional safe spaces, as well as toilet and kitchen facilities are required.
