In March 2015 my 16 year old daughter was diagnosed with a Tectal plate Brain Tumour. She underwent surgery to take a biopsy and the result was benign. Over the last 3 years she has been having 3 monthly mri scans. Her last scan revealed that the tumour has changed and is now malignant. She is now 19 years old and the doctors want to start treatment as soon as possible. They want her to have Proton Radiotherapy which at the moment is only available in Germany or America. It will be available in Manchester during the summer. But the doctors have told us they will be still sending patients abroad for the next 2 years.
