Story
13 million people live below the poverty line in the UK.
Our local foodbanks provide nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred in crisis. In Knaresborough, the foodbank is based at Holy Trinity and operated by Harrogate District Foodbank, a local community network working to combat poverty and hunger.
Between Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th May, Steve (49), Catherine (45), Luke (20), Elliott (17) and Isaac (12) will be running an uninterrupted 24-hour relay around the streets of Knaresborough - right through the night too, with only short breaks for sleep and food!
Here is a link to our virtual event page on Facebook: Facebook virtual event: Pictures, videos and updates!

Your kind donations will help the food banks to keep helping our local communities in these difficult times.
Thank You.

4 years agoTHANKS EVERYONE - WE DID IT! We finished at midday after a brilliant 24 hours and somewhat gruelling 135miles. It's been so motivating to see contributions coming in as we recovered between our stints and also to experience the incredible support around the course - clapping (silent after dark), shouting, chalking, flags and raised glasses! We hope you enjoyed the weird bank holiday! You have all massively helped out local vulnerable families through our local foodbanks. Thanks again one and all from Luke, Isaac, Catherine, Elliot and Steve!

4 years agoWe've reached hour 11 of the challenge and with 13 legs complete we've clocked 61miles between us. Thanks for all the support we've encountered around the streets - countless faces and voices waiting for us to pass and cheer us on. Thanks also for the contributions which have continued to flow in, including some neighbourhood collections from some streets en route! Wow. We will of course be continuing throughout the night with head torches and hi-vis - at least it's cooler now!

4 years agoIt's going to be a hot one today so the pace will be steady! Our schedule, route maps and street-by-street plans can be viewed online and will show our progress for each of the 32 planned legs. We also have a virtual 'event' page on facebook where we will post pictures, videos and updates - or you can too if you happen to see us out there! Links to both are in our event 'Story' here on justgiving. Thanks again for your magnificent support! Catherine, Steve, Isaac, Elliott, Luke (+ Peggy who might come out with us on a couple of cooler legs!)
