My daughter has a very severe form of Myasthenia Gravis, and when it is at its worst, she cannot breathe for herself. She was recently in Morriston hospital Swansea for five months; she would use a machine like this 4 or more times a day, so the team had a very accurate picture of her lung function. The problem was that this department had only one of these machines. They cost just less than £1600. As a way of thanking the Neurology team for this continued treatment of our daughter, we thought we might try and raise enough to buy them another.

The neurology team at Morriston are still treating Katie, she has three plasma exchanges a week and this week starts a new treatment with 4 x weekly Rituximab infusions, and we are hopeful that this might make her well again.
