Story
Move Dance Feel CIC unites women through dance. By offering creative, collaborative and joyful dance activity we provide much needed holistic support to women living with or beyond cancer (including women caring for someone with cancer or bereaved by cancer). As a physical and expressive art form, dance helps people to better manage, or navigate, the negative physical, mental, emotional and social side effects associated with cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Findings from our service evaluations show that dance in this context increases participants' wellbeing and body confidence, alleviates feelings of stress and anxiety, helps people to feel more socially connected, reduces cancer related fatigue, and gives rise to many positive emotions. Participants say:
It makes me feel the absolute joy of being alive!
It has lifted my mood to be physically active in a positive way
Thank you, that's probably the most positive interaction I've had with my body for about two years!
It’s so wonderful. You make such a difference in my life.
All Move Dance Feel activity is free of charge, to remove financial barriers to taking part, so any donation you can make is greatly appreciated as it enables us to continue offering activity - reaching more women who need our support.
