Story
Namron, from The Caribbean to Buckingham Palace.... what a dance journey!
How did Namron leap from engineer to dancer, joining Willesden Jazz Ballet, studying at Rambert and Martha Graham School and become the first black dancer to be employed in a contemporary dance company (LCDT) in the UK.
Did he make his dance entrance in Liverpool despite the wonky lift? How many classes and professional dancers has he taught, inspired and worked alongside? Are there clips in the archives at The Place and in the V&A museum that he can bring out to show to new audiences. Help us fund the research, technical film aspects, still shot showreel of behind the scenes dance photographs and uncover the fantastic dance heritage of London Contemporary Dance Theatre where Namron danced 1969 -1983! The tales, the tears, the great works and getting trapped in the lift, the 1970's blackouts the need for high speed get in and out and perform before the lights went out.... Who wouldn't want to see and hear Namrons great story, share his continued passion for dance, and support him getting his journey brought to life, shared and celebrated?
