Story
This summer I am travelling to Kitega Community Centre in Uganda to work at a disability school, help out their community and take part in tearfund projects.
Schools in Uganda struggle to afford basic supplies, staffing, class rooms etc and where schools have been set up for those with disabilities/special needs (which there are few of in Uganda), they unfortunately suffer from a lack of equipment and don’t have as specialised trained staff as we do in the U.K.
My dad is the missionary worker for a church in Ayr and has organised a trip for 12 people including myself to primarily work and improve the situation of the disabled school and also to help out in their community - like setting up a chicken farm etc.
So I am holding a ceilidh to fundraise money in order to buy new equipment and supplies for the disabled school to try and help them as much as possible.
Just a note, flights and accommodation are paid for so the money from the ceilidh will go directly towards the school.
