Story

NYC based Victoria Banks is an American registered nurse employed by USAID currently stationed in Lagos, Nigeria. She is working within a team that provides a wide range of health assistance to a much deprived community in & around Lagos. She helps out taking rounds, monitoring patients, immunising children, as well as assisting in surgery.

Her first tour in Africa.

Vic is also a bread winner & a very large chunk of her earnings after tax fly straight home to pay for her 89 year-old God Mum's hefty medical insurance, as well as her own. Victoria's God Mother - in need of 24-hour care - looked after her when Victoria lost her parents at the age of 16.

Deeply in love with one other, Victoria and I are beginning to build our future. If happy at 60N, Victoria could relocate to my island to live and serve our local community. Shetland -or the Shetland Isles - the most northerly corner of Scotland, UK, has a chronic shortage of medical staff due to its remoteness.

As part of her employment contract, Victoria has a window to join me this year. This would the perfect opportunity to be together on the "same latitude". We have the ambition to make a head start in life, yet we need help. Our combined modest earnings & respective financial commitments cannot cover her travelling costs from Nigeria to Shetland.

Your help will provide us with a fabulous opportunity to make fresh start in life. We are thankful for your generosity.

Thank YOU :-)

Every single donation is allowing us to realise our dream. We are humble to everyone's kindness and generosity, and we are beginning to smile a little more broadly every time that purple bubble fills up a little more. THANK YOU for today's and every day's act of kindness. We are humble, and I cannot wait to book that e-ticket for Vic, who is sitting her practical exam on Monday, and her final exams on the following Monday (27 March). Time is flying. Your every act of kindness draws us a little nearer every time. Thank YOU for all your help
