    Story

This post is not to ask - this is to beg all of you to help me with my fight with cancer. There is a lot of hope for me but not much time left... I am not asking to extend my life"s "deadline" - I am begging you to allow me to live, to see how my children grow {I have a 7 year old Tobi and 8 year old Kayah}, to make memories with my husband, to enjoy the life the way it will allow me. To do this I need to raise around £90,000, but this is to be confirmed by the hospital.

I would not open this fundrising page but everyone around me talked me into it as we know there is a treatment for me, Keytruda immunotherapy, but it is very expensive.... NHS Oncologist does not want me to enrol on this treatment so I need to pay for it, if I want to live. But she, the oncologist, admitted that Keytruda is in the UK now.

Back to 2018 - I was diagnosed with melanoma stage1/2 and it was all only about a removal of a small mole... I was under the care of UCLH and a scan from November 2020 showed two tumour. However Dr Emma Edmonds from UCLH said it was only hernia because melanoma does not progress so quickly, according that doctor. I spent Christmas and New Years Eve in Decemeber 2020 in A&E as I had a huge pain in my abdomen which was not bearable. I was only given painkillers at that time because they still insisted that it was hernia. I came back home with no further help but luckily I work in a private hospital with amazing people. Those people from work arranged for a doctor to look at my test results and check me, free of charge, and the doctor advised me that this is melanoma metastasis and I should act quickly. He sent the results from the scan to Dr Edmunds with his opinion.

I phoned Dr Edmonds and she arranged for a biopsy which confirmed that those tumours were metastasis. I was devastated...

Long story short - I am now stage IV malignant melanoma patient with satellite metastasis. The diagnosis given by my NHS oncologist is that there is no other treatment left for me and I have a few weeks of life left... My body did not react to immunotherapy <nivolumab and ipilimumab> back in January 2021 but they have never offered me Keytruda, which is another type of immunotherapy that had got just approved to be used in the UK this year. It is expensive so I am not being offered this - but this is only the opinion of a ONE doctor. At the end of February 2021 I was in a critical condition as melanoma had progressed so quickly. I ended up in A&E again and they switched me to targeted therapy - I was prescribed Dabrafenib and Trametinib. My body had responded immediately to the combination of the drugs but it only lasted until end of June 2021. This is when I found a lamp on my neck which turned to be a metastasis. I waited a month for a CT scan and the results confirmed it was melanoma and that there is another one on my left side of the pelvis. Unfortunately this tumour is too difficult to be operated. I was given radiotherapy to treat the tumour on my neck and it helped to get rid of at least this tumour.

I found people in USA who have been given Keytruda and they ARE still alive after this treatment - these people, and there are many, are in stage IV melanoma and are even in a worst situation than me. They have been living for 8-10 years so far, after receiving same diagnosis as mine - few weeks of life. There is a private clinic in London - Royal Marsden Hospital - where Keytruda treatment can be offered to me but it is very costly. At the moment I am awaiting their response but in brief I know the cost of the treatment is between £3,500 - £5,000 per Keytruda dose every three weeks. The treatment can be taken by a patient for a maximum of 24 months. So in worst case scenario {I am hoping} the cost would be around £90,000.

So, although I was ashamed at first to ask, my only solution is to ask every person I can to help me raise money. I live is Stevenage, in the UK, a town with a population of 86,000 people. If every person from town could contribute £1 towards my treatment, I would be able to raise the money to live. I cannot stress enough how proud a person paying £1 towards my treatment should be - because that £1 from every person will give a mum to the children and a wife to her husband.
