Story
An historic beautiful building in a perfect setting and much used and loved by the community is in need of improvement. Can you help us to achieve this?
Nether Alderley is a beautiful village in rural Cheshire. At its heart is the Village Hall, built originally as a free school in 1628 and extended in 1817. The school was gifted to the Parish Council in 1908. The Hall is used for community activities that bring local people together including parties, weddings, christenings and events such as fairs, afternoon teas and a host of other activities. The Christmas fair is particularly special.
The building requires extensive repair and updating to better meet current needs. In particular we would like to facilitate disability access. This work will involve a new entrance, new toilets and harmonising floor levels, all sympathetically carried out in this historic building.
Nether Alderley Parish Council has raised very significant funds towards these repairs but there is still a shortfall. To carry out the works to facilitate disability access will cost £50,000. Any contribution you provide will help us with this important phase. The works on the building will commence in June 2023 and we would like to achieve our target by April 2023.
The plans above show the scale of the building and the extensive work being carried out and it is expected to complete it by November next year. We will keep everyone posted about our progress in our monthly newsletters on our website and Nether Alderley Facebook
If you can donate anything to this important project it will help us to reach this target and carry out this necessary work.
