One of the key areas of this expedition is the project we will be taking part in. We will be placed in the Kudat Region which is commonly referred to as the 'Tip of Borneo'. It's one of the poorest areas of Borneo as it is yet to be exploited by tourism and large scale agriculture. The people here are often overlooked as private companies battle it out for development opportunities at the populations cost.

As a group, we hope to assist with the current development projects in this area to leave the people with a long term sustainable plan which will create a steady income for the local economy. For example we may help build a restaurant, this has many benefits: It will employ the locals and also attract people to explore the area. The money brought in will be used to create good wages for the people working there.

Finally, we will also be organising social events at the beach which typically attracts up to 60 children. On the beach, we will be playing games to help create bonds and strong ties to the locals which means they will be happy to host other people in the future in their community.
