Hi all!

This Saturday I will be participating in a Swim in memory of Samuel, if people want to make donations that would be amazing and thank you to those who already have, but don't feel obliged to, all the money will go to Samuel's family to help and support them during this very difficult period. As I'm sure you're all aware parents with children with SEN have very little support, and all of this is taken away immediately once the child has passed away which leads to a great deal of stress and anxiety for parents who are making such huge adjustments in their lives.

The Swim itself is along the River Lea and is done under ICE swim conditions, so that means you are only allowed to wear 1 swim hat, goggles and trunks, so no wetsuit (don't worry I'm not going for the speedo look). The water temp must be under 4 degrees which it was on Sunday so we should be fine. The distance is the 2nd longest which will be recognised by the association and has to be completed in under 6 minutes which I'm pretty confident I will do.

For all the motherly people out there don't worry, there will be safety swimmers in wetsuits behind me and a safety dinghy as well. We have first aiders onsite to deal with the inevitable hypothermia so no dramas.
