Story
On 27th May 2017 I will be taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 5k to raise money for Buddy Beads and Send A Smile Care Packages.
Buddy Beads allows people to tell their medical journey in a fun and positive way. They send beads out to individuals in the UK living with health issues. Each bead represents something different that the person has gone through from seizures to A&E visits to intensive care stays.
Send A Smile Care Packages sends care packages to people in the UK living with chronic illnesses, disabilities and mental health problems. The packages are individualised to the person's likes and dislikes and caters for any dietary requirements or allergies.
Both projects are very close to my heart. I receive beads from Buddy Beads and I run Send A Smile Care Packages. As someone who's chronically ill I know how valuable donations are to causes such as these.

As someone who lives with a variety of chronic illnesses every day I know how isolating they can be. You can almost become consumed by what you live with and it can be hard to see positives in day to day life. These two causes are important in helping chronically ill individuals.
